Hi, I’m Erica Mather, a yoga teacher in New York City. I’ve been teaching here since 2007, but have an extensive background in teaching other topics–music, composition, piano, sailing, and windsurfing.
I’ve been practicing yoga for about ten years, and began this vlog in an effort to organize information that I learned long ago that has been woven into the fabric of my daily life…in essence, it is information that has become normalized, obvious, perhaps even invisible.
When teaching, it’s important to chart paths, and how a person will get from one point to another. How DID I actually learn how to do a handstand? How DID I go from completely delusional to very grounded and confident? Here, I explore some of the early lessons that were foundational in a deep change in my life–from unhappy to happy.
